Humanities

The Humanities department provides students the opportunity to study a broad range of core subjects. Our aim is to help immerse students in a range of activities and learning opportunities which help them to become informed, active, global citizens. Humanities encompasses a range of subjects including Integrated Humanities (Year 7), History, Geography, Economics & Business, Civics & Citizenship, Business and Legal Studies. Opportunities within these subjects help students develop their skills and knowledge and give them the ability to clarify and articulate their attitudes, values and beliefs about themselves and others in society. Students develop critical thinking, inquiry and analytical skills, as well as develop an understanding of both historical and contemporary issues. Through the development of life skills, students are engaged in a variety of excursions and incursions, fieldtrips, debating and project-based learning. These experiences enhance their understanding of the Humanities curriculum as well as equip them with lifelong skills for their future.
