Design and Technology

Design and Technology provides students the opportunity to study a range of subjects that develop their skills and knowledge of a range of subject areas. These subject areas include Sustainability, Engineering, Information Technology, Textiles, Food Technology or Hospitality. Students explore their creativity and design skills within these subjects. Students use design and technologies knowledge and understanding, processes and production skills and design thinking to produce designed solutions for real world scenarios. Students work independently and collaboratively using problem-solving skills acknowledging the complexities of contemporary life and make connection to society. Students specifically focus on preferred futures, considering ethics; legal issues; social values; economic, environmental, and social sustainability factors. Students use creativity, flair, passion, innovation and enterprise skills with increasing confidence, independence, and collaboration.
